How has your industry been impacted by the pandemic? The effect ripples across the entire city. It's a multibillion dollar industry employing millions of people. Because events look seamless, many people do not realize the number of individuals affected — musicians, caterers, florists, installers, and creatives just to name a few. It has been devastating. What coping mechanisms have you used to keep your goals alive? I've had time to reflect and get the creative juices flowing to come up with new ways to employ and entertain people. We were the first to produce a Drive In Movie night and plan a Drive In Concert. I wanted to employ some of our industry and entertain the community that was in much need of some "comic relief"! It gave me the inspiration I needed to keep me from retiring. How is your company evolving in response? People are marking milestone occasions in smaller, more intimate groups. I'm working on plans that offer experiential evenings involving everything from famous chefs to famous artists in special locations or in private homes. Now more than ever we are grateful for life and it should be celebrated.
