What do you think makes New Orleans a resilient city? What haven't we been through? We've dealt with so much loss, sadness, and neglect and we always come back stronger. Describe your charitable work or favorite cause. I love working with Soledad O'Brien's PowHERful Foundation. The foundation paid for me to graduate from UNO — otherwise I would not have finished school. They've sent several New Orleans girls to college. I mentor young girls and travel across the country sharing my journey. How has the pandemic impacted your industry? The television news industry depends on us talking to people and gathering information. Thankfully, we can do that through Zoom and Skype, but I certainly miss interacting in person and doing stories that require being around people in our community.
