Something about New Orleans that can always put you in a good mood. A streetscape. The preponderance of vernacular buildings and giant trees is intoxicating. Describe your charitable work or favorite causes. I'm the current board president of Longue Vue House & Gardens, the home of the late Edgar and Edith Stern. New Orleans is lucky to have and benefit from the outstanding neo- Palladian house and important Ellen Biddle Shipman gardens and house interiors.

Describe what you love about what you do. My colleagues and I get to re-shape physical environments and hopefully improve the lives of

occupants or even passersby. Why in New Orleans?

New Orleans is a city with more architectural and cultural texture than perhaps any other American city. Ours is a city full of beautiful buildings, whether modest shotguns, corner stores, or grand homes and public institutions. Good design has been practiced here for centuries, and fortunately much of it still exists and enriches our daily lives.
