why NEW ORLEANS? Simply put, there's no other place like it.

WHAT IS INSPIRING YOU RIGHT NOW? Finding a balance between old and new, chaos and order. I am particularly drawn to older crafts like hand embroidery and quilting. Finding ways to incorporate these techniques into my work really excites me right now. FAVORITE thing ABOUT LIVING IN NEW ORLEANS? Making my costume for Mardi Gras Day. There's nothing better than having your best pals over, opening a few bottles of wine, and letting the creative juices flow. I actually missed the hot glue gun burns and glitter covering the floor this year. FAVORITE PART ABOUT WHAT YOU DO? I love that my art becomes a part of someone's life, and that's something I can say about my edible art as well as my fine art. In the case of my sugar cookies, the orders that I got over the past year were a really nice reminder that we still have things to celebrate.

became serious about her practice in 2016. She is known for her colorful, abstract paintings bursting with joyful movement. A year and a half ago, she decided to bring her skill to hand painted sugar cookies for a friend's baby shower and voila, a new business was born. These tiny works of art — edible canvases as she calls them — celebrate her eye for color, talent, and joie de vivre. Perfect for parties and holidays, Katie can also create custom art for milestone occasions.

FAVORITE QUOTE? "Be curious, not judgemental." Walt Whitman
