a brunch reception at Marché, and a funky after party at The Columns complete with espresso martinis, cigars, and a tarot card reader. The bride worked with designer Olia Zavozina on her custom dress featuring floral lace sleeves and a high neck (removed later on for the reception) with a silk bodice underneath. To complete the look, Cele wore her grandmother's ring on her right hand and Braddock's mom's reimagined rings as her wedding bands. Braddock also observed the "something old" tradition by sporting his grandfather's Rolex. The morning of the wedding, the couple got ready with their families and dogs, Lux and Greta, before heading to Holy Name of Jesus for their first look and ceremony. Cele had her house party choose their own gem tone-colored dress, which paired perfectly with the floral veil she swapped in right before walking down the aisle. The daytime reception was a hit. "The light at that time of day was beautiful, the flowers were seen for their true colors, and we felt like we got to actually see all of our people." Guests enjoyed New Orleans staples like brandy milk punch, mini po boys, and a chilled seafood display, and The Royal Cakery creation was almost too beautiful to eat. Dat Band kept the party going until it was time to exit via second line.
I t was supposed to rain all day. During our first dance, the light was coming through the clouds and we both just felt so happy.
