W hen Alyssa Mansfield, owner of Swoon Boutique in New Orleans and co-owner in Lafayette, was planning the nursery and playroom for her newborn son, she envisioned rooms that were highly imaginative and celebratory. "Our main spaces throughout the house are super serene and relaxing," she explains. "Walls, curtains, washed wood floors, and countertops are all a creamy white giving off a very monochromatic look. The kids' bedrooms (baby boy #2 is on the way!) and the playroom is where I allowed my imagination to run wild." For both rooms, Alyssa consulted with her close friend, designer Cheryl Slade of CSDS, who "solidified my crazy ideas and helped me take my vision one step further." The end results are beautiful rooms — playful and elegant — that are designed to transition and multi-task as the family matures.
