For Millard's nursery, Alyssa fell in love with the Palm Orleans hand screened toile wallpaper in silver and gold from Spruce on Magazine Street. "Because this room is the first to be seen when you enter our front door, I wanted it to feel special but also to be able to evolve over the years. Once the children have outgrown the nursery season, this will become my husband Scott's office, so many of the elements have been selected with that future in mind." I agree that the wallpaper with its soft metallics and the gold chandelier are smart investments that will deliver the formality needed when the roommakes its next appearance. I love the nod to the revelry of carnival, the festive tassel garland, and the deep paint color, Hague Blue by Farrow and Ball. The room glows in the evening with a dramatic midnight blue and starry night effect. Finishing touches include custom bedding with Scalamandré fabric from Spruce, a crib from Restoration Hardware, and a changing table that Alyssa found on Etsy.
