W hen Jake Bottcher and Anju Mampilly got engaged in 2021 after two years of long- distance dating, they immediately knew that the wedding would be in New Orleans. "It's one of our favorite places — the energy, the people, the liveliness — and we wanted to share that with our family and friends," Anju explains. "I grew up in Lafayette and went to Tulane. I've always loved The Roosevelt at Christmas. It's perfect for a Winter wedding." For planning, they turned to Brooke Casey who gleaned what they wanted for their big day and brought that vision to life. "Thank goodness for Brooke! I'd just moved to a new city and had very little time. Brooke made every detail flow seamlessly." The weekend was filled with meaningful touches unique to both families. For the rehearsal dinner at Galerie de Galatoire, Anju wore the sari that her mother wore for her own wedding. The ceremony at Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church also incorporated traditions typically performed in Christian weddings in India — the tying of the Thali and the presentation of the Manthrakodi. As Jake and his brothers dressed, they honored their late
