B uilt in 1905, this stunning Victorian home situated near Audubon Park and Magazine Street was beautifully renovated in 2016 by homeowners Hilary and Mickey Landry. With three older teenagers buzzing in and out to school, sports, and activities, and parents — both attorneys — working at home during the pandemic, you can definitely say that this location is command central. "I love our neighborhood," Hilary explains. "I can walk to my sister's house, Romney Studios, Langenstein's, and all of the best shops on Magazine Street. The kids can, too. It's terrific." In decorating her home, Hilary gravitates to family and pet-friendly furnishings such as hardworking velvet sofas, Moroccan rugs, lucite counter stools, and accessories that are neither stuffy or fragile. She loves color and bits of sparkle and flash; but most of all, she's after comfortable, inviting spaces that work for pets, busy teenagers, extended family, and friends. "The most valuable items in this house are the ones that can withstand a Clorox wipe," she laughs. For Christmas, Hilary places lots and lots of greenery throughout the entire house.
