family arranged for Alice, their beloved Golden Retriever, to join them for some of the formal portraits. Special holiday touches included The Big Easy Boys quartet greeting guests with Christmas carols, peppermint ice cream from Creole Creamery, jingle bells on satin ribbons passed on the packed dance floor, and the band Az IzZ playing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" as the very last song of the night. Highlights of the night for Laurel include having her childhood piano teacher, Michele Starnes, play the organ during the ceremony, her first dance with Ryan to "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by the Four Seasons, and her dad, Curt, donning a blue sequin jacket for their dance to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." From getting dressed at her family home to having her makeup done by Tony Pierce who did her mom's makeup for her own wedding in 1985, Laurel kept everything intimate and sentimental. "When you marry your best friend, all of the planning flows naturally," she explains. And with Santa as a helper, you can't go wrong.
