T his loving renovation of an 1860s cottage by Entablature and Logan Killen Interiors is beyond dreamy. The project included an addition to the rear of the house for a new primary suite and mudroom, as well as custom features added to all of the renovated existing spaces. In the hands of such talent, the home feels untouched by time, but functions well for a modern family. I love the en suite bedroom and bath. The designers explain that "the layout was determined by unique site conditions and circulation paths that dictated the shape and size of the new rooms." Solutions such as the dramatic doors opening to the bath make the narrow space feel wider and less hall-like. The Waterworks tub and hardware placed beneath a window, stunning Zio and Sons for Clé Tile, and tied-back curtains are atmospheric elements that create a sumptuous retreat. A pair of sinks sourced from Signature Hardware anchored with custom mirrors and wall lights from Urban Archaeology deliver that understated vintage inspired vibe that's timeless. Entablature built the doors and transom that opens from the bedroom to the mudroom, and the custom storage painted Lichen by Farrow & Ball

that flanks a well-worn bench. The intentional sightline from the bath to the bedroom to the mudroom to the verdant back yard is beautiful. The interior designers are known for their sublime use of color — those hard to define shades paired together in uncommon ways — and a cheerful mix of fabrics and accessories that look collected over time. In the dining room, a hutch painted Farrow & Ball's Bone was added to look as though it has always been there. Refinished floors and wainscoting are original to the house. For the living room, Entablature added crown molding and built bookshelves and a banquette. Walls are coated in Farrow & Ball's Cromarty which plays well with the Colefax and Fowler check featured on the sofa and shade, alongside all of the vintage finds and furnishings from the designer's Magazine Street store, Sunday Shop. It's a magical renovation and an example of what can happen when the contractor, architect, and designers are all involved from conception to finished plans to the final placement of beloved accessories.
