Flagstone excavated from the original side yard and used for the pool and patio area gives it that "always been there" feel and a fabulous painting by Ashley Longshore, commissioned for the breakfast room, is a nod to the present state of affairs in this old house. As Susu laughs, "we wanted the kids to want to hang out here; we love the chaos of family life and this house is activity-central for sure." So many decorative touches in the house are true to the couple's personalities. Andrew, who owns Stall L'Hoste Investments, avidly collects works by Southern artists and Susu, who owns SOSUSU, a women's clothing boutique, has a passion for fashion and individual style. Dressmaker details such as greek key trim on living room sofas, luxurious upholstered walls trimmed with grosgrain ribbon in the den, and a sophisticated yet playful mix of patterns throughout the entire house are all so Susu.
