And the garden is luxuriously green; Buford holly and Japanese plum and maple trees mix with tropical elephant ears, ligularia, and windmill palms, creating a richly-hued setting. A stunning marble Buddha that the Slakeys found on a trip to Vietnam sits near a charming fountain and water lily pond complete with gas-burning tiki torches. At night, the air is dense with fragrant Confederate jasmine, gardenia, and Meyer lemon trees. It's pretty intoxicating and that's before you've even tasted the punch! Jeanette loves super saturated color and lots of it. For summer, she plants her porcelain containers with seriously red geraniums for a sophisticated nod to traditional summertime red, white, and blue. And her table bursts with fifty shades of blue.
