I n honor of Adore's inaugural A-List issue, New Orleanians set aside their Wednesday evening routines for an energetic and uplifting celebration at our A-List Reveal Party. The April 24th soiree unveiled and toasted the twenty-five hand-selected and diverse individuals profiled in Adore for their accolades, achievements, and aspirations. Chris Granger's portraits hung proudly in the Avenue Gallery as attendees mingled over cocktails and bites. A portion of the event's proceeds benefited Son of a Saint, whose founder was among those featured. E mily Walker Puckett, owner of Em's Boutique in Metairie, has an exuberant and high-energy style that is well-curated in both her popular women's clothing shop and her vibrant Uptown home. As she explains, "my home makes me happy the minute I walk in the front door. I'm always drawn to texture and color and I love all things animal." Just like in her boutique, which is celebrating its 14th year, this renovated Italianate double shotgun house, bold in color and layered with collected treasures, is an artful mix of pattern, periods, and personality. The house had been newly renovated when Emily purchased it and the floorplan was perfect – public rooms on one side and all the private rooms on the other. But Emily, newly married, wanted to put her own stamp on the home the Pucketts use when not in Houston, their home base. Designer Chad Graci, a master at creating spaces that are as stylish as they are comfortable, brought his expertise to the project. First the bathrooms and closets were updated with a luxurious spa- like vibe and the entire house got a fresh coat of White Dove by Benjamin Moore. The kitchen had just been redone by the previous owners, so Chad focused on changing the existing basic lighting fixtures and cabinet hardware to achieve a more intentional look. Lacquered pendant lights with touches of burnished gold and sleek brass hardware immediately dialed up the glamour of the honed

W e really wanted an unexpected expression of Emily's fabulous personal style. It's fresh, layered, and rich in color. - Chad Graci

marble countertops and center island. With a punchy boho rug from Slate Interiors and a papier- mâché cow's head from Perch, this kitchen quickly became more "Emily." Essentials in place, Chad and Emily tackled the fun part: decoration. Emily had a treasure trove of beautiful elephant porcelains, favorite animal prints, eclectic art, and natural stone sculptures – a testament to the spirited collected look she loves. Since each room flows into the other, Chad employed a full range of pinks as the unifying thread using dollops of silver, gold, and Lucite as shimmery accents. Chad's signature style is that confidant mix of vintage and antique finds punctuated with modern statement pieces and visual decorative flourishes, and that totally jived with Emily's aesthetic. A handsome hand-painted floor in the foyer makes a grand entrance. Here, an antique gilt Louis Philippe mirror that Chad found at Renaissance Interiors looks great in a room filled with vintage

finds and a contemporary chandelier. A talented, trained eye like Chad's is required when scanning estate sales, Etsy, and 1stdibs for cool furnishings with potential, and the mod brass lamp, retro acrylic rocker, and large urn with brass stems are all fabulous finds. The pair of carved snakes on the glass console and ceramic elephant bookends on the mantle are pieces from Emily's menagerie. In the living room, a beefy emerald green Jonathon Adler velvet sofa anchors the space and the ram's head coffee table base that Chad found on 1stdibs brings the wow factor. A pair of campaign- style arm chairs found at a Houston estate sale with new plump leopard print cushions and an exquisite Indian mosaic accent chair from Perch fit right in. It's in the dining room that things get sexy. As nods to Emily's fashion sense, the walls are dressed in on-trend Brett Design ombre

paper in warm grey with pink and the ceiling is lacquered blush. Chad had the hardware on a pair of spectacular Italian blown-glass lighting fixtures gold leafed and layered a hide rug over a sisal carpet for additional texture and drama. The antique wood marble-topped chest, another Renaissance Interiors score, is granny-chic when paired with a contemporary Saarinen table and swanky Lucite and brass chairs with pink metallic leather seats. The bright, sunny family room is all about lounging. Layers of textural neutrals – patterned sisal, hide, silvered velvet, and leather – punched up with color in the art and pillows create an inviting space designed for relaxing. With eye-candy accessories, elements of glamour, and a love for color, Emily's fresh fashion sense shines just as brightly at home as it does in her popular shop.

CHOP SAL AD

GREEN GODDESS DRESSING Makes 1 quart 1 pint avocado 1 tbsp roasted garlic 4 tbsp minced basil 4 tbsp minced cilantro The zest and juice of 2 limes 1 cup neutral oil

TECHNIQUE: Combine all ingredients into a good processor and blend until fully incorporated Slowly drizzle in oil until fully emulsified SALAD ROASTED CARROTS TECHNIQUE: 1. Peel and then medium dice 2 carrots 2. Toss in bowl with enough EVOO to cover and S&P to taste 3. Roast at 450 °F for about 10 minutes or until fork tender 4. Allow to cool to room temperature - Cut 1 cup worth of petite green beans into 1 inch sections, reserve - Thinly shaved red radish METHOD: 1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl with around a cup of Green Goddess dressing 2. Add 2 tbsp of white wine vinegar and 3 tbsp of EVOO 3. Salt and pepper to taste TO FINISH: - Roast 1/2 cup of pepitas and 1/2 cup of sunflower seeds at 350 °F until golden brown. - Immediately toss seeds in a bowl with 1 tsp EVOO, the zest of 1 lime, and 1/2 tsp of chili powder - Allow to cool - Liberally sprinkle seeds on top of the salad - Pickled banana peppers (store bought is fine) - 1 small head of iceberg lettuce, medium dice - 1/2 head of radicchio, medium dice

M argot Shaw, the founder and editor of Flower magazine, the nation's only floral lifestyle publication, knows a thing or two about blossoms and botanicals. Since 2007, she has cultivated a loyal following of readers who share her passion for all things floral. Margot's steadfast belief that "the urge to gather flowers and all forms of beauty into our lives is primordial and begins in the garden" is the guiding principle of her flower-focused magazine. The magazine features the work of top tastemakers, interior designers, and event planners who celebrate the fact that "flowers lend a richness and romance to living and celebrating life that is undeniable." Now in her first book, Living Floral – Entertaining and Decorating with Flowers published by Rizzoli, Margot has gathered her personal favorites in a must-have book for the flower enthusiast in us all. In the introduction, she explains that "in this book, we paint and elevate flowers with words and pictures, looking at creative and talented people from the worlds of interior, garden, floral, and

The book is arranged by season because, as she explains, "my husband is the gardener and I cut what he grows. There's always something to clip and arrange – whether French blue hydrangeas in summer, white nandina berries and remontant roses in the fall, camellias in the winter, Lenten roses in late winter, and forsythia and tulips in the spring, among other blooms and branches." It is easier to incorporate greenery and blooms into an everyday lifestyle when thinking about it seasonally, much like we do food. The forward is written by Margot's dear friend, the designer Charlotte Moss, who shares her summery East Hampton garden and pool along with her creative
