FOOTBALL COACHES MARTIN BENAVIDEZ 9TH GRADE ASSISTANT

Coach Benavidez is entering his seventh season at East Coweta High School as the 9th Grade Assistant Football Coach. He brings some South Texas football experience where he has been serving as a coach/mentor for the past 11 years. This year he will be coaching the running backs and defensive line. Coach Benavidez hails from a small seaside city of Portland Texas where he graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1986 and after graduation he put country before self, where Coach Benavidez enlisted in the United States Air Force and was later commis- sioned and served honorably for twenty-three years. college alma mater is Texas State University, San Marcos Texas through R.O.T.C. and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Education. He also holds a Masters Degree from University of Texas Pan American in Special Education and a Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership through LaGrange College. He cur- rently serves as a Special Education teacher. He has three children, Alexis, Lucas, and Julia.

CARSON CARROLL 9TH GRADE ASSISTANT

Coach Carroll is excited to begin his first year as the 9th grade offensive line and outside linebacker coach at East Coweta. For the past seven years Coach Carroll has served as the head baseball coach and assistant football coach at Timberland High School in St. Stephen, South Caroli- na. He is a 2009 graduate of Newnan High School. After high school he went on to play college baseball at Darton State, and graduated from The University of West Georgia in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education. He and his wife Brittany have one daughter Anna Claire (7).
