PRINCESS SENOIA

Princess Senoya He-ne-ha was a member of the prestigious Wind Clan of the Creek Indians here in Coweta County, and wife of Captain William McIntosh, a recruiter from the British Army. Their son, Chief William McIntosh, was both a General in the Army and one of the most prominent Chiefs of the Creek Nation. The Wind Clan was dominant in establishing present-day Coweta County. Furthermore, the Eastern part of the plot of land took on the greatest significance... Within Creek legend, East Coweta is considered to be the most hallowed ground within the county. Originally known as Willow Dell, our local town of Senoia was changed in the 1860’s to honor Indian Princess Senoya.

Here at East Coweta High School, under the Friday night lights at Garland Shoemake Stadium, you will find our representation of the beloved Indian Princess. This is Senior Bri Wells 2nd year serving as our ECHS mascot, Princess Senoya. INDIANS
