FOOTBALL COACHES
Coach John Small enters his 6th season at East Coweta High School and 24th season overall after previously serving as the Head Coach at South Gwinnett High School from 2005-2016. Before becoming the head coach at South Gwin nett he served as Defensive Coordinator and assistant principal at Oconee County High School from 2002-2004. Prior to that he served as an assistant at South Gwinnett High School from 1999-2001, and an assistant coach at the Uni versity of West Georgia from 1997-1998. Coach Small is excited about being a part of the Indian Nation and looks forward to continuing to build relationships within this great community. His overall philosophy is to create an environment where young people desire to do their best, both on and off the field. Coach Small and his wife Julie have been married for 23 years and have two daughters; Ashton a Senior at the University of West Georgia and Emma a Freshman at Kennesaw State University. Coach Small enjoys playing golf, hunt ing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Coach Washington is entering his 14th year on the sidelines for the Indians af ter spending one season as an assistant at Jeff Davis High School in Alabama. He will oversee the development of the defensive secondary. After graduating from Spalding High School in 2003, where he played football and baseball. He con tinued his playing career at Morehead State University and Auburn University Montgomery. Coach Washington obtained his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education, his Masters in Kinesiology and his Education Specialists in Curriculum and Instruction. Coach Washington is pictured with his wife Mallory.
ANDY WASHINGTON VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH
INDIANS Coach Horan is a native of Norfolk, Virginia, and attended Granby High School where he lettered in track and football. He began his college career at Christopher Newport University where he majored in biology and played middle linebacker for the CNU Cap tains football team and was a part of the USA South conference champions in 2006. Coach Horan continued his education and completed his undergraduate in Health and Physical Education from Old Dominion University in 2017 and his master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning from Lagrange College in 2020. His coaching career began in 2018 as the head football and track coach at Arnall Middle School in Coweta County where their team won back-to-back county football championships in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, Coach Horan began coaching football and track at Fayette County High School and was promoted to head strength and conditioning coach as well as the defensive coordinator for the football team in the spring of 2022. Coach Horan will be returning to Coweta County as a member of the East Coweta staff and will be coaching tight ends and teaching health and physical education. Coach Horan enjoys football, baseball, golf, and weight lifting as well as spending time with his wife, Krista, and two daughters Bailey, and Aubree. COACH TOM HORAN VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH
