MARY COLLINS BAND SECRETARY
Mary Collins began her career at ECHS in 1993 and is currently celebrating her 31st year as a proud East Coweta Indian! During her first two years here, she worked as an assistant in the English Department and oversaw the operations of their three computer labs. But, in August of 1995 when the band needed a new secretary, she was assigned that position … and as they say, the rest is history! For the last 29 years, she has loved working with the band students, directors, staff, and the many dedicated band parents who have become friends along the way. In addition to her band work, Mrs. Collins is a clerk for the entire school. Some of her non-band responsi bilities include scheduling bus transportation for all non-athletic trips taken, programming the daily slideshows for the school’s tv monitors, and overseeing ECHS’s quarterly property inventory for the Coweta County School System. Originally from Stafford, Kansas, Mrs. Collins graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science. When she’s not at school, Mrs. Collins stays busy with her own company, Welcome Storks. She and her husband, Clay, enjoy spending time with their two daughters, Kate Collins (ECHS 2012, UGA 2016, GSU College of Law 2021), Meg Yancey (ECHS 2009, UGA 2013), and their son-in-law, Jefferson Yancey. They are also the proud grandparents of three grandsons: Henry Yancey (age 3) and identical twins, Tate and Beau Yancey (age 1.) Their two dogs, George and Joe, and their granddog, Floyd, happily round out their family.
