The Second Death

“If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15). 

wo preachers stood together by the side of the road between their churches, feverishly hammering a handmade sign into

the ground that read:

THE END IS NEAR TURN AROUND NOW BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!

Suddenly, a car sped past them with the driver yelling out the window, “Leave us alone, you religious fanatics!” After hearing the screeching of tires and a big splash, one turned to the other and said, “Do you think the sign should have simply said BRIDGE OUT AHEAD instead?” By nature, people, especially those running from God, are turned off by the subject of religious fervor as it relates to hell. And yet, as discovered in chapter 13, the Bible speaks clearly and extensively on the subject.
