“The Music is in Me”
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).
icolo Paganini (1782-1840), one of the greatest violinists of all time, was about to perform before a sold-out opera house. Walking on stage to a huge ovation, he sensed something wrong. He realized that he had someone else's violin in his hands. Terrified, but knowing that he had no other choice, he began. He gave the performance of his life that evening. After the concert, talking with another musician, he admitted, "Today I learned the most important lesson of my entire career. Before today I thought the music was in the violin; today I learned that the music is in me." Next to Christ as Savior, the best discovery I've ever made was that I had the "music in me"—that is the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The Biblical term for this is baptism of the Spirit. John the Baptist arrived on the scene preaching, " I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me...will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire" (Matthew 3:11).
