Constant Contact

“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).



During the Apollo missions to the moon, the spaceships were off course more than 90% of the time. Yet, through continual communication with Mission Control they could make necessary connections. In our journey through life, we too, are off course most of the time. 1 By staying in constant contact with God we can correct our course, stay headed in the right direction, and succeed in our mission. Along with regularly reading the Bible, the best means of maintaining a continuous connection is through prayer. Because you are reading this book, I know you’re interested in growing as a believer. That means you absolutely must develop a consistent prayer life. Scripture says “Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray” (Luke 5:16). If Jesus, God in the flesh and Savior of the world, needed to pray, then how much more do you and I? If possible, make prayer the first thing you do in the morning. King David writes, “In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In
