fervors, or uncommanded austerities; it consists in thinking as God thinks, and willing as God wills.” 51 C. S. Lewis said, “How little people know who think that holiness is dull. When one meets the real thing, it is irresistible.” 52 God’s people won’t just survive in mediocrity, they’ll thrive in holiness, as Christ is glorified and evil is stymied. Joy - I see little joy on the faces of people as I go from day to day, even among believers.Thankfully, that’s all going to change when Christ sets up His Kingdom on earth. As the Bible says, “The ransomed of the Lord will return, and come with joy- ful shouting to Zion, with everlasting joy upon their heads. They will find gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away” (Isaiah 35:10).The rebuilt temple will serve as the epicenter of world- wide worship, not as a place where the sacrificial system is reinstituted, but rather the sacred location where Jesus receives the glory and honor due his name. Conversion - This worship includes the salvation of the nations . As Scripture records, “ Any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King” (Zechariah 14:16, emphasis added). Those “left” are a saved remnant from among the Gentile nations whosought to destroy God’s people before Christ came to the res- cue. So, as you can see, the Jews won’t be the only people con-verted during the millennium. Gentiles will come to Christ, too. For centuries, God’s people have been praying, “Your kingdom come,Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). That prayer gets answered when Jesus comes again to establish His reign on earth. If He is Savior and Lord of your life, you’ll be part of the excitement.
