Greetings from the Conference’s Committee Chair “EDUCATE, INFORM, AND EMPOWER”
Welcome to the 23 rd Annual GACSB Educational Exchange!
This year’s theme, EDUCATE, INFORM, AND EMPOWER focuses on key elements of leadership.
As Board Members, Executive Leadership, Supervisors, Direct Care Staff, Practitioners, and Support Team we each play an essential role in providing quality care for Georgia’s citizens. These three elements enable the teamwork that success requires. We hope you find the Educational Exchange a re-energizing opportunity with thought provoking sessions. We will start with a picture of the national landscape, learn more about Georgia’s priorities, and continue on with focused workshops for all attendees. Through our Board Track, Clinical Track, I/DD Track, and Management Track there will be plenty of learning options available to you during the conference. With our all-star lineup of nationally and locally acclaimed speakers we guarantee you opportunities for growth and development. The knowledge and expertise brought by our generous Business Partners through products and platforms to assist CSB operations is valuable to all leadership and board members. The Business Partners have generously supported this event, so please stop by their tables to show your appreciation. CMEs/CEUs are available for Marriage and Family Therapists, Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Addiction Counselors, Nurses, Psychologists and Psychiatrists. Please check out all the amazing entries for the logo contest. All the entries are appreciated, with special recognition going to the contest winners: Gary Gorman, Middle Flint BHC; Cornorris Tamplin, Middle Flint BHC; and Travis Paul, Georgia Pines CSB. The challenge of change can be both exhilarating and hard to navigate. Current times have afforded many new initiatives to enhance services and strengthen the public safety net. To be successful, it is especially important that we obtain and maintain resilience for ourselves and our teams. The committee’s goal is useful knowledge, food for our spirits, and wisdom, so that we all return home re-energized in contributing to healthy foundations for our communities, building lives of recovery for the people we serve, and actively maintaining our own health and wellness! Legacy Lodge is sure to offer something renewing for each of you; please take full advantage of the beauty and soak up lots of resilience.
Warmest Regards!
Dana Glass, LCSW CEO, Aspire Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Chairperson, GACSB Education & Individual Advocacy Committee
