Shaun Golden , a former Basketball Player and Coach at The University of Georgia. Shaun has over 30 years of experience, in collegiate basketball, as a player, coach, and sports broadcaster. Currently, Shaun is the founder and Executive Director of Golden Opportunity Character Building Program. Since Fall 2016, Golden Opportunity has presented to more than 280K youth, throughout the U.S., on the importance of embracing strong character with emphasis on setting goals. Terry Hawkins is originally from Forsyth County, and has served the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years. He is currently a Sergeant, and supervises the Crisis Intervention Response Team. Terry also serves as the law enforcement member of the revolutionary co-response model that CIRT employs. This model partners Terry with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and together they respond to calls in the community involving a citizen experiencing a mental health related crisis. This partnership offers our citizens a response that is better tailored to their unique characteristics, and provides for opportunities to divert citizens away from the criminal justice system. Terry’s team also looks for ways to link local charitable organizations to citizens who are in need of those resources.
