Dietra D. Hawkins, PsyD is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who works nationally and internationally with state and local government organizations, public and private schools and behavioral health agencies as the owner and lead consultant with Both And Partners, Inc. Dr. Hawkins provides coaching and consultation to individuals and organizations based on their unique strengths and assets. She has over 10 years experience consulting with healthcare providers, community stakeholders and large health care systems to enhance their cultural and linguistic approaches as a means of eliminating racial and ethnic health disparities. She is a published author and frequent speaker for communities and organizations seeking Appreciative approaches toward sustainable change; Recovery Oriented Systems of

Care, Enhanced C.L.A.S., Asset Based Community Development and Inclusion, and the Healing of Racism. Dr. Hawkins holds a faculty appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale University, School of Medicine, Program for Recovery and Community Health (PRCH). Her primary interests and areas of expertise address racial and ethnic health care disparities; cultural competence, community engagement; organizational systems change, leadership, and transformation; and qualitative methodology and community based participatory research. Dr. Hawkins developed Beyond the Surface: Making Cultural Competence Real. Organizational Cultural Competence Two Day Training Curriculum for Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum; and coǦauthored an 80 hour Certification 9 course curriculum for PROCEED, Inc., National Center for Training Support, & Technical Assistance titled EMBRACING PEOPLE IN COMMUNITIES (EPIC) PROGRAM For Organizational Cultural Competence. She has worked as a consultant with a number of organizations such as Coffee County’s School system Douglas, GA; the Archdiocese of Houston Galveston, Texas School System; the Georgia Recovery Initiative, DBHDD’s Office of Recovery Transformation, the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse, Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network, SAMSHA, and the EPA.
