If Walls Could Talk©

William G. McLeod

Want To Know What’s Happened, At First Baptist Church Throughout Its History, Down These Hallowed Halls? Don’t Ask The Congregation, For As They Please They Come And Go Don’t Ask The Lights; They Change, Just Ask The Walls Started Out A Filling Station, Pumping Gas And Changing Tires With The Service Rendered Being Auto Care Now Service Has New Meaning And When One Says, “Fill ‘Er Up” Good God, Not Goodwrench Plans Your Soul’s Repairs Someone Asked A Question, Whether Walls Could Talk And If They Did, Could What They Say Be True They’re The Keepers Of The Peace And Preserve Prosperity That’s What It Says In Psalm One-Twenty-Two A Bridge From Past To Present, Connecting Then To Now The Key And Way To A Future Bright And New So The Question Shouldn’t Be Whether Walls Could Talk Or Not But Rather, Will We Hear Them When They Do To Be A Fly Upon Those Walls When Dark And Silence Comes After All’s Gone Home And There They Stand Alone It’s Been Said That Sermons, Prayers And Songs Sung O’er The Years Release And Have A Service All Their Own You Can Paint Them, Put Up Paneling Walk Through Them Or Tear Them Down Once Erected, Walls Of Kindness Never Ends And That Great Wall Of Salvation, Built Not By Hands But Love Shall Protect Us Till The Very Last Amen! Someone Asked A Question, Whether Walls Could Talk And If They Did, Could What They Say Be True They’re The Keepers Of The Peace And Preserve Prosperity That’s What It Says In Psalm One-Twenty-Two A Bridge From Past To Present, Connecting Then To Now The Key And Way To A Future Bright And New So The Question Shouldn’t Be Whether Walls Could Talk Or Not But Rather, Will We Hear Them When They Do
