and false wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

After a three and a half year period of this charade of peace and prosperity, the truth will surface. It is around this time that the Antichrist appears to be fatally wounded (Rev- elation 13:3). However, Satan miraculously heals the wound. “After this wondrous event, the world will be totally enthralled by the Antichrist. They will worship Satan and the Antichrist himself.” 23 This empowers the Antichrist, who then sheds all pre- tense of being a peaceful leader. “He openly blasphemes God, breaks his peace treaty with the Jews, attacks believers and the Jews, and desecrates the rebuilt Jewish temple, setting himself up as the one to be worshipped (Revelation 13:4-7; Matthew 24:15)” 24 – just what had been prophesied centuries before: “In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomi- nation that causes desolation” (Daniel 9:27, NIV). It’s no wonder Paul calls the Antichrist a “man of law- lessness” (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Numerous murderous leaders throughout history certainly fit that description. However their character and actions will prove mild in comparison to the Antichrist. We now come to a discussion of the False Prophet , the third member of the unholy three.Whereas the Antichrist, Satan’s counterfeit Messiah, represents the political side of the trio, the False Prophet, an imitation of the Holy Spirit, heads up the religious realm. Digging deeper into the instrument of evil, note first his description.Whereas the Antichrist will have ten horns and seven heads, with features of a leopard, lion and bear; the false prophet will have two horns like a lamb.Though that might suggest lesser power, don’t be fooled.
