The victory ascent— Once the fighting is completed, the conquering Christ will make His climb of conquest up the Mount of Olives just east of Jerusalem. Along with thisascent, a number of cataclysmic events will take place—lightning, darkness, moving land masses, flowing waters and an earthquake unlike any other that has ever occurred throughout history (Zechariah 14:4-7). These occurrences, the same ones described in connection with the seventh bowl judgment (Rev- elation 16:17-21), signal the end of the great tribulation. “And the Lord will be King over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, His name the only one” (Zechariah 14:9).
