n an early stage in World War II, General Douglas MacArthur and his army endured one of the lowest times in American history.When the Japanese attacked the Philippines, his isolated forces fought valiantly, but eventually withdrew to Bataan Peninsula where they resisted bravely for four months. Later, in March of 1942, President Roosevelt ordered the controversial General to relocate to Australia and command Southwest Pacific Allied forces.
