When the jubilation subsided, Sir Ernest asked one of the crew, “How did it happen you were packed and ready for my coming and that you were standing on the shore ready to leave at a moment’s notice?” The man replied, “When you left you said you would come back for us, and we never gave up hope.” 443 Every day that passes brings the return of Christ that much closer.
