HOBBIES: I like to do little projects in my room, like hanging lights or putting up speakers. I also like to work with my brother on baseball because I want

him to love it as much or even more than I do. FAVORITE SMHS EXPERIENCE: My favorite Starr’s Mill experience is when Coach Williamson told me to dress out for my first varsity game against East Coweta, and I ended up getting a hit and making a catch in the outfield.

PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: After I graduate this December, I plan to attend Georgia Southwestern State University, in January, to play softball. Go Canes! Currently my major is undecided. ADVICE TO UNDERCLASSMEN: I have two pieces of advice for underclassmen. The first is to always expect the best out of whoever you are playing and never take your foot off the gas pedal. Any team can take the win from anyone on any day. It comes down to who wants it more and who’s willing to fight the hardest. The second thing is to always put in 110% effort in games AND in practice, not only because you’re supposed to, but be cause even when it feels like no one notices your hard work, they do. I promise.

SMHS Lady Panthers want to thank Coach Williamson and his family for the decades of dedication and sacrifice they have given to our program.

MARK WILLIAMSON Starr’s Mill Fastpitch Head Coach 2002-2020 Through dedication and loyalty, Williamson led the Lady Panthers to 12 State Playoff appearances, including 4 Region Championships, 6 Region Runner-Ups, 7 Elite Eight Tournaments, 5 Final Fours and 2 State Runner-Ups. He was Region Coach of the Year 3 times, 2020 5A Coach of the Year, and 2018 All-State Team Head Coach. Williamson’s teams won 413 games posting a .633 winning percentage. His knowledge of the game and passion to succeed earned him universal respect all throughout the State of Georgia. Starr’s Mill is forever grateful for Williamson’s contributions to Panther Athletics as he impacted many sports by coaching softball, wrestling, basketball, and lacrosse during his illustrious career.
