SPARTANS COACHES

Coach Sneddon enters his 7th season as the Spartans Head Coach. He has compiled a 125 – 49 record at South and notched his 250th career win during the 2023 season. Coach Sneddon’s Spartans have reached the playoffs every year, and twenty-one

JAY SNEDDON HEAD COACH

Spartans have gone on to play collegiately during his tenure at South. Prior to coming to South Paulding, Coach Sneddon has served as the head coach at Mt. Paran, Mt. Zion, and Villa Rica. Thirteen of Coach Sneddon’s former players have become high school coaches (including six that have become head coaches), and fourteen of Coach Sneddon’s former assistants’ have become head coaches. Coach Sneddon is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and has a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration. Coach Sneddon has twice been awarded the GHSA All-Region coach of the year. Coach Sneddon has 2 daughters: Jordan and Alana.

Coach Adair is a graduate of Villa Rica High School, where he was a four-year letterman in baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and golf. During his prep career, he struck out 7 former, or current professional baseball players. Coach Adair will be entering his 8th season with the Spartans, where he serves as

the associate head coach and pitching coach. Coach Adair was recognized by the Georgia Dugout Club as the Assistant Coach of the year in 2018. Coach Adair is married to Leslie, and has one son, Maddox.

Coach Chatham is a graduate of McEachern High School. He will be entering his 7th season as an Assistant Coach for the Spartans. Coach Chatham serves as the catchers coach and hitting instructor for the Spartan program. Prior to coming to South, Coach Chatham served as a head travel ball coach for 10 years. He lives with his wife Staci, and 4 kids: Tyler, Nolan, Harry, and Trystan.

Coach Houston is entering his 10th year coaching at the High School level, having previously coached for 8 years at Crisp County HS as their outfield coach, co-hitting instructor, and Strength and Conditioning coach. He is a graduate of Georgia

Southwestern State University, having earned a B.S. in Health and Physical education, and later earned an M.Ed in Health and Physical Education from Valdosta State. Coach Houston serves as an infield instructor and hitting coach for the Spartans. He lives with his wife Alisa and their two daughters, Brynlee and Adalee, and son Huxley

Coach Graham is beginning his 3rd year at South Paulding HS, having previously been the Head Baseball and Softball Coach at Chapel Hill HS. Coach Graham is a graduate of the University of West Georgia, having earned a B.S. in Health and Physical

ADAM GRAHAM VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

Education, and of Jacksonville State University, where he earned his master’s degree in human performance. Coach Graham serves as the hitting coach for the Spartan program. He has recently been named the head girl’s softball coach at South. He lives with his wife Melissa and their 3 children, Joanna, Clayton, and Wade.

Coach Meadows is a graduate of McEachern High School, and Georgia Southern University with a degree in Sports Management. Brian’s professional playing career was side tracked when he was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve as a Trench Runner during World War I. He later caught a perfect

game for Babe Ruth and hit a grand slam off Nolan Ryan. Following a brief stint in the Korean War, he resumed his career where he caught another perfect game from Bob Gibson. He stands today as the only professional baseball player to catch two perfect games. Coach Meadows will be entering his 7th season as an Assistant Coach for the Spartans. He serves as an assistant pitching coach, and administrative assistant. Prior to coming to South, he coached travel ball for 10 years. He lives with his wife Jill, and two kids: Ethan and Allie.

Coach Welak is a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He received his degree from Gannon University in Biology where he played 4 years of collegiate baseball. Coach Welak will be entering his 5th year at South where he serves as our strength and conditioning coach,

Coach Sauls was born and raised in Villa Rica, Ga. And graduated from Villa Rica High School with the class of 2010. Coach Sauls was a 4-year varsity letterman in Baseball and Football, and a 2-year varsity letterman in Wrestling. Coach Sauls

played baseball at Mars Hill College in western North Carolina and completed his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of West Georgia. Coach Sauls is currently in his 4th year teaching, spending his first two years at Villa Rica Middle, prior to coming to South. Coach Sauls serves as an infield instructor, hitting coach, and the freshman coach.

Coach Brumbelow is entering his 2nd year as a coach with South Paulding. Coach Brumbelow has been a coach for baseball and wrestling for several years throughout the county. He is a graduate from Kennesaw State University, an educator with PCSD and currently lives in Paulding County with his wife Dae and their two children Joeby and Brinley.

SCOTT BROWN FEEDER COORDINATOR AND 8TH GRADE HEAD COACH

Coach Brown is a graduate of Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing, Illinois, and received electrical training in LaPorte, Indiana. Coach Brown served as the president of the South Paulding Diamond Club and later joined the Spartan coaching staff. Coach Brown will be entering his 4th year with the Spartan program where he serves as the head 8th grade coach, and Jr. Spartan Coordinator. Coach Brown lives with his wife Shannon.

ERIC FARMER 8TH GRADE ASSISTANT

Coach Farmer is entering his 2nd season as an assistant coach for the Jr. Spartans. He has been an assistant travel softball coach for several years. He lives with his wife, son and daughter in Hiram.

LUKE LAMAR 8TH GRADE ASSISTANT

Coach Lamar is a graduate of South Paulding High School. He played baseball at South before continuing his career collegiately at Lawson State in Alabama. Coach Lamar is entering his 2nd year coaching at South Paulding. Coach Lamar

serves as a hitting instructor & outfield coach for the Junior Spartans. Coach Lamar is an avid reader, and plays golf in his spare time. He is ranked in the top 100 for left handed golfers in Temple, Ga.

Coach Lockridge is a graduate of South Paulding High School. Following his 4 year baseball career at South, he continued his education at Kennesaw State University, earning a degree in communication. He is in his 2nd year coaching in the Spartan program. Coach Lockridge serves as the pitching coach for the

RUSS LOCKRIDGE 8TH GRADE ASSISTANT

Junior Spartan program. In addition to coaching at South, Coach Lockridge also coaches football for the Mt. Paran Christian School feeder program. Coach Lockridge is famously known for his role in the hit Netflix series The Outer Banks.

Coach Davis is a graduate of Lithia Springs High School. He is in his 2nd year with the South Paulding program. Coach Davis serves as the head coach for the 7th grade Jr. Spartan team. Prior to coming to South, he coached for 10 years with Titans Academy and Straight-Up-Baseball.

JACKSON DAVIS 7TH GRADE HEAD COACH

Coach Freeman is a graduate from South Paulding High School. He played all four years of baseball at South, continuing his career at Lawson State Community college for 2 years, then transferring to University of Montevallo for 3 years. He earned his degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition. He is the assistant coach for the 7th grade team. This is Coach Freeman’s first year coaching in the Junior Spartan program.

Coach Tittle is a graduate of Carbon Hill High School in Carbon Hill, Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree from Miles College, where he played baseball for 4 years. Coach Tittle has obtained many years of coaching experience, at many different levels. He spent two years as a college assistant at

Miles College before moving to the state of Georgia to begin his head coaching career. Coach Tittle was previously the head baseball coach at Paulding County and Hiram High School. Coach Tittle is entering his first season in the Junior Spartan program as the head 6th grade coach. He lives with his wife Angela, daughter Destiny, and son Jared.
