TIM BARRON

To the Wildcat Community,

Let me start off by saying I am excited to be a Wildcat. After arriving here in December, the Wildcat community has made my entire family feel very welcomed.

When we began this journey, the first thing we wanted to look at was the history of the Villa Rica program. Our goal was to bring back the pride to the Villa Rica Community. We asked a lot of questions and leaned on many community members that were involved in the football program during the many successful times during the 80’s and 90’s. During those successful times, players wore the purple and gold with a sense of pride and honor. The community was proud to be called a Wildcat. When meeting with the men and women during this era, you could sense the passion and desire they have to return our program to those special years. Although we can’t turn back time, we are going to work extremely hard to honor the Villa Rica alumni by building a product that represents the school and community with high character. Although this process may not happen overnight, we hope that each and every week you will see growth both on and off the field. To the parents of the current Wildcat football players, I would like to thank you for entrusting our staff with your most precious gift, your child. I will never promise your child playing time or instant success; however, I do promise to be as fair as I possibly can to your child. I hope and pray that over time, you will see that we care about your child way beyond their contributions on a football field. I promise to deliver a message to them that in contrast to what they see on news and social media, there are good people in this world. I will teach them to love and respect one another regardless of the color of their skin and their socioeconomic status. I will teach them to respect their teachers and men and women of authority. I will teach them that success does not come before hard work and sacrifice. I promise we will coach them hard. We will tell them what they need to hear instead of what they want to hear. We will do this because we care about their future beyond football. Hard coaching goes hand in hand with love. I also promise to you that we as coaches will make mistakes. You will not agree with every decision, call, and comment that we as coaches make. However, I do promise that we will work hard as a staff to give this team its best chance for team success. Parents, I hope you know and understand that your words both at home and in social media can help or harm the direction of our success. Every season brings about its own times of hardship and adversity. Our success will be determined by how we as coaches, parents and players han- dle these difficult times.I hope and pray that you will refrain from negative and devise remarks as we work diligently to bring this team and this community together.

I would like to thank our Board of Education and Board Members for building our athletes facilities that they can be proud of. I would like to thank our high school administration for their desire for our kids to be successful both in the classroom and on the field. I would like to thank the Villa Rica Cluster for their support in bringing our two middle schools together as one athletic program in football. No longer will we fight amongst ourselves. We will be one town, one community and one family. We are all Wildcats! I would like to thank our many sponsors for their contributions to our program and our student athletes. I would certainly like to thank our booster club and the Huddle Moms for the countless sacrifices they make throughout the year to feed, clothe and serve our players. Furthermore, I would like to thank the wives of all of our coaches who sacrifice so much so our coaches can be a part of your child’s life. In the Carroll County School System, we have a slogan that says 24 Strong. It represents that all schools in Carroll County are unified and heading in one direction with our values and beliefs. Our goal in the Villa Rica Community has to be 1 strong. For the success of our kids and our programs, it will take each and everybody in this commu ni ty pulling in the same direction. We have to become 1 strong before we can truly be 24 strong.
