DR. NICOLE CARIDAD RALSTON CENTRAL CITY ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, EDUCATION &

Describe what you love about what you do. I am an educator and facilitator at heart. I'm passionate about equity and inclusion and building a society that serves the most historically and socially marginalized people. Something about New Orleans that can always puts you in a good mood. The food! We have the tastiest and most accessible food in the country. You can dine at a 5-star restaurant or grab a poboy at a corner store and have an equally delicious experience. Where do you see New Orleans on the other side of this pandemic? I'm hoping that we become a more equitable city. People are more aware of the deep structural inequities and I'm praying that we come together to rebuild a more balanced economy that benefits the many, rather than the few. What advice would you give your twenty-year-old self? You are enough, just the way you are. Don't dim your light to make others more comfortable.
