N ancy Worley and Christopher Faux met at Williams College and embarked on a long distance relationship after graduation. While Chris pursued a career in New York City as a private equity investor, Nancy completed medical school here in New Orleans. When Nancy matched with Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan for her Ophthalmology residency, the two would finally be in the same city, and a wedding date was set. Original plans included hundreds of guests, a ceremony at Rayne United Methodist church, and a reception at Il Mercato. But as Nancy explains, "Seeing patients with Covid during my intern year at Ochsner quickly taught me the 'life is short' approach to decision making. We considered postponing, shortening the guest list, but in the end we knew that making this commitment now and celebrating with our loved ones as safely as possible was what mattered most."
