I t's a joyful wonderland at Vicky and Peter Sperling's Uptown home at Christmas. Resplendent with glistening trees — tinsel, brush, and fresh — in an array of sizes laden with glass ornaments in every hue, the house is filled with fragrant greenery, charming holiday décor, and an exuberant color palette. It's clear that Vicky revels in what she calls "holiday highs" — simple pleasures such as the yearly hunt for certain color balls, wrapping gifts with a decorative nod to each recipient, and setting festive, beautiful tables. As she explains, "The fun is in collecting and using all the things you love; my look is always evolving and is never 'done.' It's what keeps things fresh and unexpected." I couldn't agree more and especially like her sage advice: "Don't drag the decorating out too long. Get those storage boxes back into the attic, so you don't feel pressure to keep doing more and enjoy your home all season."
