of twinkling lights and ornaments, multiple styles of textured garland, and whimsical birds perched here and there, it's a showstopper. Some of Vicky's tips for achieving depth, fullness, and that "dripping with ornaments effect" include hanging three different shaped ornaments on each branch, using various size hooks to create levels, and trimming branches to make room for larger balls. Adding small baubles to the tips is icing on the cake. But it's her take on lights that I can really get behind. "Just when you think you have enough lights, add more. Try not to blow a circuit breaker," she says with a knowing laugh. Their newly renovated kitchen, sparkling white swagged with fresh garland and wreaths, is the perfect backdrop for the miniature trees, vintage containers, and snowcapped houses that Vicky has collected over the years. I love how she adorns each little tree in clusters of one color — green for one, a full range of coral-reds for another — and places them in interesting ceramic pots throughout the house.
