“Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see” (2 Kings 6:17).

S everal years after the opening of Disneyland near Los Angeles in 1955,Walt Disney envisioned an even larger park in Florida. He set plans in motion, but died in 1966, almost five years before the opening ofWalt DisneyWorld in Orlando. On the day of the park’s opening, a visitor said to Mike Vance, Creative Director of Walt Disney Studios, “Isn’t it too bad Walt Disney didn’t live to see this?” Oh, but he did see it,”Vance re plied. “That’s why it’s here.” If you intend to thrive in your walk with the Lord, there will come times when you’ll have to envision spiritually what you can’t see literally.There’s actually a word for that. It is called faith. As the Bible says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Exploring our text for this chapter, 2 Kings 6:8-23, we’ll encounter a man who saw spiritually what wasn’t there literally.
