Todd Gaddis

When Charles Wesley experienced the joy of divine forgiveness, he told a Moravian friend of his new sense of pardon, and added, "I suppose I had better keep silent about it." "Oh, no, my brother," came the reply. "If you had a thousand tongues, you should go and use them all for Jesus." Charles Wesley went home and wrote the following hymn: "O for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer's praise, The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of his grace!" If you know Christ as your Savior, don’t keep silent about it. Don’t be ashamed of the gospel, “for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16) . Request and receive a burden for the spiritually drowning—then “throw out the lifeline.”
