no fear of harm (Zechariah 8:4-5).This will no doubt be true at other locations throughout the world. What makes this time even more wonderful is that it involves not only humans, but the animal kingdom as well. Ani- mals bent on killing since the fall will become domesticated. As the Bible says, “‘The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent’s food.They will do no evil or harm in all My holy mountain,’ says the Lord” (Isaiah 65:25). Creatures once feared will be considered harmless in these times to come. “The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den” (Isaiah 11:8). The overarching reason for this time of unprecedented peace is a unified government, one in which Jesus Christ reigns supreme. As, “Prince of Peace . . .the government will rest on His shoulders . . .There will be no end to the increase of His govern- ment or of peace” (Isaiah 9:6-7). Solomon says, “Let all kings bow down before him, all nations serve him” (Psalm 72:11), prophecy that becomes reality during the Christ’s millennial reign. Yet, just because He reigns supreme doesn’t mean He reigns alone. Positions of leadership occupied by corrupt, godless pagans during the tribulation will be turned over to the twelve disciples in the millennium. As Jesus said to His disci- ples, “You who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel” (Matthew 19:28). It won’t just be the original disciples occupying positions of leadership. Believers from throughout the ages will be there as well. Such service, however, is not a grace guarantee to all Christ followers. Faithfulness in this life determines position in the afterlife. As Jesus promised those who remained faithful
