at the Thyatira church, to him who overcomes and “Keeps My deeds until the end, to Him I will give authority over the nations and He shall rule them with a rod of iron” (Revelation 2:26-27). In the same vein, Paul wrote to that carnal group of believers at Corinth, “Do you not know that we will judge the world?” (1 Corinthians 6:2). In other words, “If youcan’t get your act together in this life, how are you going to be in a positon to rule in the world to come?” In many ways, life on earth is an internship for the future Kingdom under Jesus’ reign. And when that time comes, with the current, carnal world system turned on its head, poor widows who have been faithful to Christ will exercise authority over casual Christian CEOs who make it into heaven as through fire (1 Corinthians 3:15). Dedicated, yet unknown ministers persevering at small churches in the boonies will exercise authority over celebrity, megachurch preachers. In addition to the above, the following are byproducts of this glorious government: Justice will be served – Under our present system, innocent people are often incarcerated while the guilty go free.If one has the means to hire the right attorney, they expect a lighter sentence, perhaps even getting off altogether. Such will not be the case when heaven invades earth. Since “Righteousness will be the belt about His loins, and faithfulness the belt about His waist,” the reigning Messiah, “Will decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth” (Isaiah 11:4-5). Decisions during this 1000-year period will be made based on the per- fect, heavenly knowledge, as opposed to flawed, earthly infor- mation and biases.
