Many believe he was the praise leader of heaven. Sadly, Lucifer, as he was known, became dissatisfied in that privileged position. Consumed with pride and ambition, he wanted to be equal to God, desiring even to take over His position.The Bible says in Isaiah 14:12-14: How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morn- ing, son of dawn!You have been cut down to the earth, You have weakened the nations! But you said in your heart,“I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of the assembly In the recesses of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” As these verses indicate, because of his blatant, blasphe- mous insubordination, Satan was cast out of heaven, along with millions of lesser angels now known as demons, who serve as his henchmen (Revelation 12:7-10).
