Meet our Speakers
Julie Zemke is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who completes the clinical assessment and makes treatment recommendations for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office as the Co-Responder Behavioral Health Counselor. She is employed through Avita Community Partners and is granted ability to involuntarily hospitalize individuals as needed for mental health and/or substance abuse concerns (1013/2013). Julie obtained her bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Psychology from Washington State University and began providing substance use treatment in 2009. Julie received her master’s degree in Social Work
(MSW) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee specializing in Clinical Mental Health/Substance Abuse in 2013. Julie has worked in a variety of outpatient, residential, and correctional settings with those experiencing both substance use and mental health disorders. She holds a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Work) degree in both Wisconsin & Georgia.
