Microsoft Word - Auria Hourly Handbook November 2021 - FINA
B. HOLIDAYS
All full-time employees shall be eligible to receive holiday pay. The following is the list of paid holidays: • New Year’s Day • Martin Luther King Day
• Good Friday • Memorial Day • Independence Day • Labor Day • Thanksgiving • Day after Thanksgiving • Christmas Eve • Christmas • New Year’s Eve Day
A recognized holiday that falls on a Saturday will normally be observed on the preceding Friday. Those on a Sunday will normally be observed on the following Monday. Holiday pay will be calculated based on the employee’s straight time pay rate for regularly scheduled hours. Hours paid for holiday pay will not be counted in computing eligibility for overtime.
To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must:
• Be a full-time AURIA employee. • Work the last full scheduled day immediately preceding and the first full scheduled day immediately following the holiday. Should a recognized holiday fall during an employee’s scheduled vacation, holiday pay will be provided instead of the paid time off that would otherwise have applied. Employees on leave of absence when a holiday occurs will not be paid for the holiday. Eligible employees who work on a recognized holiday will receive one and one half (1 ½) of the employee’s hourly rate for all hours worked on a holiday, plus daily scheduled hours (for holiday pay) at the regular straight time rate.
Please be advised, the Company reserves the right to adjust scheduled holidays based on business needs.
