Traditionally, a Haiku meets the following requirements:

• Haikus consist of three phrases. • A 575 Haiku is composed in a 5 syllable, 7 syllable, 5 syllable pattern. • A 757 Haiku is composed in a 7 syllable, 5 syllable, 7 syllable pattern. • Haiku phrases don’t have to rhyme. Through poetry sessions like these, Poetry Break not only nurtures individual creativity but also builds a vibrant community of poets eager to learn more about poetry, share their voices and connect through the transformative power of poetry.
