AlyricA Shelia Thomas Poet/Artist

Alyrica (pronounced 'Ah Lyric Ka') calls herself an American poet, writer, actress, and artist who can draw and paint. Born in Jamaica Queens, New York, she is number 6 of 10 children. She discovered her gift of writing at 10 years old, when her English teacher told the entire class to write a poem. She later entered a contest her poem entitled "Rainbow” to her surprise had won. Writing for Alyrica is cathartic as well as freeing. She often use poetry to self soothe and to work out complicated situations in her life. As a US Navy Veteran, she joined POETRY BREAK to have a community of other people that indulge in and love poetry like her. Alyrica is working on her first poetry book to be published called: " FOR YOUR APPLAUSE..”
