FOR CRYING .OUT LOUD!© AlyricA Shelia Thomas Created 16 November 2000

For Suicide Prevention:

Dear Friend, I didn't hear you when you were silently crying. I couldn't see you when you sat all alone. I wasn't aware you were feeling bad inside. I didn't know anything was even wrong. I couldn't see the pain in your face.

I didn't comprehend you were lonely in a crowd. I didn't know how to approach your wounded soul. I couldn't understand your secret pain, for crying out loud. Please, don't go thinking that I'm insensitive. Don't go feeling that the world doesn't care. Stay and tell me what's hurting you.

I certainly know that life can be unfair. No no, suicide is a permanent solution, To a temporary problem that will flee.

Many a people gave up the ghost way too soon And never got to see what the end's gonna be. Just you stay one more day. Because each day we live is a unique gift. Yesterday may not have been so kind to you. But tomorrow may take a sudden shift. Have you ever heard the old adage What a difference a day makes? Well, don't go erasing your future By trying to obliterate your past mistakes. Cuz Orphan Annie will tell you just hang on Until the day is done. She knew that if we faced today's troubles Tomorrow there will be sun!

I may not be "the answer" you're seeking. I may not be the silver lining in your cloud.

But, you can always come talk with me (Since my ears are open - my heart is too) And, I love to hear from you - for crying out loud!
