sfc james r. glenn - Army Instructor Sergeant First Class James R. Glenn was born here in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Hogansville, Georgia. He graduated from Hogansville High School and assumed a career in the Armed Forces. His family history includes his father who served in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam War Era, uncles and cousins who also served in the Army during World War II, Korean War, and The Vietnam War, which led to an easy decision for him to serve in the Armed Forces. His military career led him to several locations around the globe, including Infantry units in North Carolina, California, countries of Asia, countries of the Middle East, and two deployments. He served in two major Infantry Divisions and Expeditionary Forces, 1 st and 2 nd Infantry Division, and 1 st and 2 nd Expeditionary Force, which are Tip of The Spear – Long Range Surveillance Units Special Forces Capable, and lastly The Recruiting Battalion for the Army National Guard here in Douglas and Paulding Counties.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in International Business and his Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, while serving on active duty. Upon retiring, he began teaching Army JROTC for Fulton County Schools, and now the awesome South Paulding High School – Go Spartan’s!
