LTC Christopher Moore Senior Army Instructor

Lieutenant Colonel Christopher S. Moore grew up in a military family and began his military career in June 1985 attending Infantry Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia as a member of the South Carolina and Georgia Na tional Guard. He received his commission in 1990 from North Georgia College as an Infantry Officer. Upon completing the Infantry Officer Basic Course, LTC Moore was assigned to the VII Corps Special Troops Battalion where he served as the Support Platoon Leader during Operation Desert Storm. Upon redeployment from Saudi Arabia, LTC Moore was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), where he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Anti-Armor Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion S-4 (Logistics Officer) from April 1991 thru October 1994. Upon completion of the Infantry Officer Advance course and Bradley Leaders Course in July 1995, LTC Moore was assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry (Mechanized), 2nd Infantry Division, Republic of Korea where he served as the Battalion S-4. In July 1996, LTC Moore was reassigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas where he served as an Assistant Operations Officer in the Division G-3. In July 1997, LTC Moore was reassigned to 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, where he served as the S-3 Operations Plans Officer until February 1998, when LTC Moore took command of Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry. During his command, LTC Moore deployed his company as part of Intrinsic Action as a show of force mission to Kuwait to deter Iraqi aggression. From July 1999 to July 2002, LTC Moore was assigned to the US Army Forces Command in Atlanta, Geor gia where he served in G-3 Training and as the Executive Officer to the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3. In July 2002, LTC Moore was reassigned to Headquarters, Department of the Army, G-8 where he served as the Systems Synchronization Officer for Engineer equipment. In July 2005, LTC Moore was assigned to US Army Central, Third Army where he served in the G-3 Force Management Division and deployed on three occasions in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Upon completion of his Third Army assignment, LTC Moore was assigned to US Army Forces Command in November 2008 where he served as the Stryker Brigade Combat Team Organizational Integrator and Force Integrator for Joint Base Lewis-Mc Chord and Fort Irwin. Since retirement from the Active Army in September 2011, LTC Moore has served as the Senior Army In structor for the South Paulding High School Spartan Battalion. LTC Moore is the son of Colonel (Ret) Jimmy and Jean Moore of Springfield, Virgina and has been married to his college sweetheart, the former Tammy Harper of Chamblee, Georgia for 30 years and has three children.
