Ms. Toler is entering her first year as Athletic Director/Assistant Principal at South Paulding High School. She is a native of Mableton, Georgia and has lived in the South Paulding community for the past 20 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/Special Education from Mercer University, a master’s ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL/ ATHLETIC DIRECTOR SHANNON TOLER

in special education from Capella University, and Tier I Leadership Certificate from University of West Georgia. Ms. Toler is entering her 9th year in education and her 2nd year in administration all of which have been in the Paulding County School District. She began her teaching career at Dugan Elementary where she spent one year teaching 4th grade and three years teaching 5th grade. From there, she moved across campus to South Paulding to serve as an Interrelated English teacher for three years. Ms. Toler has been a coach in the community for the past 20 years. She began her coaching career at New Georgia Ballpark coaching youth cheerleading for the South Paulding Bears. In 2011, she worked with the high school and booster club to rebrand as South Paulding Spartans and transition to have their home field be moved to SPHS. She served as the youth cheerleading director before moving to coach 7th grade cheerleaders for two years. Ms. Toler then coached the JV cheerleaders before taking on the head coach role in 2017 where she stayed until taking the position as an assistant principal in 2022. In addition to her South Paulding family, Ms. Toler has three children. Brianna is a 2017 SPHS graduate, Gracie is a 2022 SPHS graduate, and Luke will walk across the stage in 2030. She loves spending time with family and when not at South, they spend many days at the ballpark watching Luke play baseball or at Life University where Gracie cheers. Ms. Toler has been blessed with the opportunity to make a positive impact on every student that walks through the doors of South Paulding High School. She thrives on community involvement and loves to foster the growth of young athletes. Her goal as athletic director is to facilitate a program of coaches that are all in and committed to the academic and athletic success of our young athletes, as well as mentoring these athletes as productive and positive members of our community.
